HEAVY CREAM  BAND BIOS

 

Dion Paci on lead vocals and bass as Jack Bruce, is a Berklee College of Music alum, a founding member of the award winning music series 'Mad Cow' with G. Calvin Weston, a member and producer in the progressive rock/jazz-fusion all-star group 'As Human' and a performing member of Michael Schrieve's(Santana) Spellbinder. Dion currently performs and periodically tours with Seattle based band Willow and the 'Chase the Magic Dog' project while still teaching master musician clinics throughout the country. Dion also hosts popular weekly jam sessions in the Philadelphia area and maintains an endless working list of highly notable musicians in the rock, hip-hop, R&B and jazz worlds such as: Mary Wilson (The Supremes) Bernie Worrell (P-Funk, Talking Heads) John Medeski and Billy Martin (MMW), Jamaaladeen Tacuma (Ornnette Coleman, James Blood Ulmer),  Skerik (Les Claypool), Chuck Treece (Bad Brains), Gerald Veasley (Grover Washington Jr.) and many more.

Steve Iannettoni on drums as Ginger Baker, is another super multi-instrumentalist talent who currently performs in not one, but two of Philadephia's most popular young bands - as a drummer, backing the classic rock jammer, CRISBIE, while also the bassist and a vocalist in the indie rock group, SONNDER. A 2011 choice award winner in the Berklee School of Music HS Jazz competition, Steve's star is on the rise and his red hair flare makes him a perfect fit for Ginger!

 

JT Curtis is a musician, record producer and actor based in New York City. He was an original cast member of the Broadway musical, LET IT BE where he performed as lead guitarist, George Harrison, in the national tours. He’s reprised the Harrison role in the show SOMETHING: A CONCERT FOR GEORGE, played Lindsey Buckingham in MACWOOD FLEET and is currently the host for the HISTORY OF ROCK web series. As a recording artist, JT has released several recordings and music videos, including ELEMENTS, ONE LAST STAND, and his band Mongoose arranged a remote performance video during the 2020 pandemic, NEVER LET THE BASTARDS GRIND YOU DOWN. His music has been featured on  CBSABCFOXThe NFL's Super Bowl and the NCAA's March Madness. Curtis began his career leading the all-star L.A. band, 7TH SUN, and has always heard fan compliments with comparisons in look and sound to Clapton whom he notes as a heavy influence and has thus consistently honored through his career from coast to coast -  once fronting the LA based tribute - Whipped Cream.

Sam Gutman on vocals and keyboards as Stevie Winwood.  When the Heavy Cream band delves into the Blind Faith catalog, they invite another South Jersey/Philly specialist musician to fill in for some Heavy 'Traffic' in the set.  Hailing from both the University of the Arts and Berklee College of Music, Sam Gutman has emerged as one of Philadelphia's elite keyboard/pianists.  He is a member of the Philly's popular Nick Greeley and the Operators as well as vocalist and melodic force on the keys for the powerhouse acid-jazz-rock-funk fusion project, OUT OF THE BEARDSPACE. OOTB is gaining critical acclaim and loyal following as well as founding the popular musical & arts showcase event, BEARDFEST. 

BILLY "The KID" THODEN

Billy 'THE KID' Thoden also handles vocals and lead guitar as Eric Clapton. Thoden started with Heavy Cream at only 16 years old but had already enjoyed a storied professional music career. Discovered by Jimi Hendrix's bassist, Mr. Billy Cox at age 10, Billy was already a kid phenom blues guitarist, able to play the guitar behind his head or back flawlessly and in showman style ala Hendrix & SRV while leading bands and lead singing. At only 11 - 12 years old, he began a blues festival touring schedule that hasn't stopped.  Fronting the "Billy the Kid" band, he continues playing top stages from Nashville's NAM to Nova Scotia's Guitar Fest! He's opened for major acts like Robert Randolph and Pat Travers, met and performed with greats like Eric Gales, Dickey Betts and Billy Cox and received personal tutelage from blues/rock legends like Elvin Bishop and ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons, who gave him the moniker "The Kid." In 2020 at age 19, Thoden was named to the Dallas, TX International Guitar Festival as one of the top 10 guitarists under 20years old in the world. He has recently started is own original group, FATT MEZZ and begun fronting a tribute show dedicated to his first influence, SRV called.. BTK and the Troublemakers.

JOHN HUMMEL

While John's main gig is drumming for the award winning, Matt O’Ree band, he is also a veteran session musician playing live performances and doing studio work in the NY/NJ metro area for various projects. With the Matt O'Ree band, John has opened for rock legends like Paul Rodgers, Deep Purple and Lynyrd Skynyrd and his drumming talent has been honored numerous times with performance invites to the annual all-star drummer’s BONZO BASH for late Led Zeppelin great John Bonham.  John has toured throughout the USA, South America and Europe and recorded with numerous artists such as: Matt O'Ree (Bon Jovi), Amfibian (Tom Marshall), Anthony Krizan (Spin Doctors), Neal Casal (Ryan Adams and the Cardinals), John Ginty (Citizen Cope), CC Coletti (Meatloaf) and Lady Gaga.
